La région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur est décidément la terre d’élection des festivals. A côté des incontournables Chorégies d’Orange, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence ou de La Roque d’Anthéron, de nombreux festivals plus intimes méritent eux aussi d’être connus. C’est le cas du Festival de Toulon, qui propose cet été une programmation aussi intéressante qu’éclectique. On se réjouit ainsi d’entendre la violoniste Isabelle Faust et le pianofortiste Andreas Staier, deux interprètes aussi justes stylistiquement que sensibles musicalement, dans des sonates de Weber, Schumann et Beethoven (le 14 juin). Beau programme ensuite, à la croisée des formes artistiques, avec le récitant Robin Renucci et les pianistes Véra Tsybakov et Romain Hervé, qui font dialoguer Chopin, Alkan ou Debussy avec Hugo, Verlaine ou encore Verhaeren (le 28 juin). Valeur sûre : le Quintette de Mozart avec le Quatuor Kocian et Michel Portal (10 juillet), l’un des rares musiciens aussi à l’aise dans une impro jazz que dans une forme sonate. Enfin, le duo mythique des sœurs Labèque revisite Albeniz et Ravel dans un programme délicieusement hispanisant (le 17 juillet). Signalons que ce dernier concert se déroule dans l’amphithéâtre du centre culturel de Chateauvallon, aujourd’hui très inquiet pour son avenir, dépendant des politiques locales.
