Au pays des droits de l’homme, comme dit la formule, ce Festival des cultures africaines constitue une mise en oeuvre intelligente, pragmatique et longuement mûrie de la rencontre entre soi et les autres, entre sa propre culture et les cultures africaines du Sénégal, Mali, Burkina Faso et Bénin. Loin de toute crispation qui viserait à figer “l’identité nationale“ dans une définition étriquée et balisée par des critères fallacieux, cette manifestation rappelle sans naïveté aucune que la diversité des populations peut permettre des découvertes artistiques passionnantes, et que l’identité justement est une notion complexe. C’est bien la découverte qui est en jeu ici, à travers les œuvres d’artistes engagés et innovants, venus à la fois du continent africain et de Cergy même, où une cinquantaine d’associations ont participé à la programmation. Musique, théâtre, expositions, lectures, spectacles jeune public, salon du livre africain, conférences, le festival multiplie les angles d’approche, avec le souci d’intégrer la population locale ( dont une importante communauté sénagalaise) au sein du public. Parmi les spectacles, Bougouniéré invite à dîner, mis en scène Patrick Le Mauff, Identité(s) nationale(s), conférence de Simon Njami, critique d’art, Du griot au slameur, avec Blackis, Médéric Collignon, etc. Un festival à ne pas manquer !
