L’organiste Jean Guillou invite ses collègues à se produire sur le splendide instrument Van den Heuvel de l’Eglise Saint-Eustache dont il est le titulaire. A deux pas des Halles résonneront les chefs-d’œuvre du répertoire, depuis les toccatas de Bach jusqu’aux improvisation contemporaines. Pas moins de cinq récitals en solo sont programmés entre le 20 mai et le 17 juin. Centième anniversaire de sa naissance oblige, Olivier Messiaen sera bien représenté, avec notamment ses pièces Le Banquet céleste et Dieu parmi nous. Du côté des interprètes, signalons tout particulièrement la venue de Martin Baker, titulaire de l’orgue de la Cathédrale de Wesminster (le 5 juin), et de Sarah Kim, jeune talent d’origine australienne (le 12 juin). Mais surtout, il ne faut pas manquer le concert donné par le maître des lieux en ouverture du festival le 20 mai. Au programme du récital de l’exaltant Jean Guillou figurent notamment Le Combat de la Mort et de la Vie de Messiaen, la Sonate en ut mineur de Julius Reubke, le Concerto n°10 de Haendel et La Chapelle des Abîmes de Jean Guillou himself, hommage de l’organiste à l’écrivain Julien Gracq disparu l’année dernière.
