Peu de festivals autant que celui de Samois ne racontent une histoire… Celle de Django et de son île du Berceau où il passe les deux dernières années de sa vie, celle du souvenir du premier jazzman européen et de ses disciples libres comme l’air, celle de la Seine qui coule tout près – un peu plus sauvage ici qu’ailleurs – et de ses péniches soudain porteuses de musique, celle d’une communauté d’artistes et de spectateurs au diapason… Pendant 5 jours, l’îlot enchanteur devient place forte d’un jazz bouillonnant, nomade et swingant, où l’on s’en doute, les guitaristes se taillent la part du lion et s’appliquent, dans ce lieu unique chargé d’émotions, à donner le meilleur d’eux-mêmes : Sylvain Luc, Al Di Meola, Mike Stern, Stochelo Rosenberg, les frères Ferré et Biréli Lagrène sont sur la ligne de départ de cette édition 2012. Mais tous les musiciens voyageurs sont les bienvenus à Samois, parmi lesquels cette année le mythique Dr John from New Orleans, la soul singer Sharon Jones, le clarinettiste Klezmer Yom, le pianiste cubain Roberto Fonseca…
