CONTEMPORAIN / PARIS – ILE-DE-FRANCE
Improvisation, expérimentation et croisement des genres sont les maîtres mots de cette nouvelle édition du Festival Extension. Une manifestation qui investit différents lieux de Paris et sa banlieue: Palais de Tokyo, Mac/Val, Théâtre de la Bastille, Maison des Arts de Créteil… Le concert d’ouverture est confié à l’ensemble 2e2m, la formation dirigée par Pierre Roullier, fidèle partenaire du festival. Au programme: Simon Steen-Andersen, Ondrej Adamek et Olga Neuwirth. Autre temps fort, la tragédie lyrique de la compositrice Claire Renard qui fait cohabiter vidéo, instruments baroques (viole de gambe) et traditionnels (duduk, une sorte de hautbois arménien à la sonorité terriblement mélancolique). Le festival propose également une expérience inédite avec le saxophoniste suisse Antoine Chessex, maître de la spatialisation sonore. Au Mac/Val, c’est un genre (trop) rare qui sera représenté : la création radiophonique. Un projet civique, qui associe collégiens et lycéens. C’est à la Maison des arts de Créteil que s’achève cette nouvelle édition, avec la tragédie musicale Safety First qui raconte l’étrange épopée des casseurs de bateaux. La musique est signée par Eryck Abecassis et le livret par Olivia Rosenthal.
