En mars dernier, l’association Format, qui œuvre à l’implantation d’un territoire de danse en Ardèche, a été informée par la ville de Meyras de la non-reconduction de la mise à disposition des locaux qu’elle occupait. Devenu « La Jetée, lieu d’art et de ressources chorégraphiques », cet espace accueillait les compagnies en répétition, le public en atelier… C’était un beau port d’attache pour le projet de Format, unique en son genre en Ardèche, dans le souci constant de l’infusion de la danse en territoire rural, au plus près des habitants. La décision brutale et non concertée laisse l’association dans l’incompréhension, tout comme ses tutelles la DRAC, le Département et la Région, qui se mettent autour de la table pour réfléchir à l’avenir du projet. En attendant, pas de festival cet été entre La Jetée et Jaujac : après les préalables – maintenus – où Joanne Leighton présentera ses Modulables dans six villages, Un jour de danse est prévu, où Rudi van der Merwe, Stefania Brannetti, Silvia di Rienzo, le Groupenfonction, Jozsef Trefeli présenteront leurs pièces. Une affaire qui, par-delà les méthodes autoritaires, pose la question du choix politique de la culture dans les territoires.
