L’originalité du festival Guitares Au Beffroi, c’est justement de proposer plus qu’un festival. Pendant trois jours, c’est aussi un salon de luthiers avec plus de 80 exposants ainsi que des masterclasses avec certains des musiciens à l’affiche des concerts de l’événement. Le samedi 28 mars à 14h, Nguyen Lê participera par exemple à la conférence « Les guitar heroes et la guitare des années 70 ». La veille, le virtuose franco-vietnamien aura ouvert le festival avec son projet « Songs of Freedom ». L’occasion de (re)découvrir le côté rock de ce fils spirituel de Jimi Hendrix : aux côtés du batteur d’Aka Moon (Stéphane Galland), Nguyen Lê réinvente à sa manière (toute fusionnelle) des standards des Beatles, de Led Zeppelin ou de Janis Joplin. Les deux autres soirées de Guitares Au Beffroi exploreront d’autres facettes de la six-cordes : le jazz manouche de Stochelo Rosenberg (samedi 28) et le blues d’Otis Taylor (dimanche 29). Un beau panorama de l’élasticité du plus populaire des instruments.
