La Villette / jazz multiple
Après une première semaine éclectique, le festival présente en seconde mi-temps des artistes qui font habilement rimer jazz avec buzz et d’autres qui prolongent avec assurance l’héritage de cette musique, dans la multitude de ses formes. Parmi les artistes notables, on relève Angel Bat Dawid, nouvelle figure de la scène de Chicago, pianiste, clarinettiste et chanteuse, dans un esprit psyché qui n’est pas sans parenté avec Sun Ra (le 7). À voir dans des registres fort différents, les trompettistes Chief Adjuah (alias Christian Scott) (le 8), Avishai Cohen (le 9) ou Theo Crocker, invité du nouveau projet « Louise » du saxophoniste Emile Parisien (le 11). En pleine ascension, parrainé par Anderson .Paak et Thundercat, le duo DOMi & JD Beck est très attendu, tout comme les Fearless Flyers et leurs guitares funk affutées portées par le groove de Nate Smith (le 10). Quant à Ravi Coltrane, il présentera la « Cosmic Music » imaginée par ses parents, Alice et John, comme une forme d’absolu de la musique (le 11).
