Cette manifestation, qui fête cette année sa majorité, s’est choisi comme berceau, lors de sa création en 2001, le mythique quartier de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Là même où tant de grands musiciens de jazz ont écrit une part non négligeable de l’histoire du jazz en Europe, sur des scènes aussi légendaires que Le Tabou ou le Club Saint-Germain, dans l’euphorie culturelle de l’après-guerre d’un secteur où il n’était pas rare de croiser dans le quartier Simone de Beauvoir, Jacques Prévert, Raymond Queneau, Samuel Beckett et bien sûr Boris Vian. Le quartier a beaucoup changé, comme l’a si bien chanté Alain Souchon, mais le Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés fait rejaillir dix jours par an cet « esprit jazz » perdu, s’emparant de grands lieux tels que l‘Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés, l‘Église Saint-Sulpice, le Théâtre de l’Odéon ou l’Université Paris-Sorbonne, l’Université Panthéon-Assas et même le Sénat ! La programmation accueille cette année parmi ses invités les plus en vue Roberto Fonseca, Emile Parisien, Airelle Besson, Thomas Enhco, Laurent de Wilde, Ray Lema, Camille Bertault et Mélanie de Biasio.
