Le 8 juillet 1621, Jean de La Fontaine naît à Château-Thierry. Pour commémorer le célébrissime auteur des Fables, cette ville organise depuis 1991 un festival réunissant différentes formes artistiques (musique, théâtre et danse) en lien avec l’œuvre de La Fontaine. Cette année, la programmation réserve de belles surprises, comme la création de chansons d’Antoine Sahler inspirées de contes de La Fontaine (le 7 mai, avec les chanteurs Jean-François Novelli et Arnaud Marzoratti, bien connus des amateurs de musique ancienne). Le Festival accueille aussi la production de l’Académie d’Ambronay, dédiée cette année aux Troqueurs, un opéra-bouffe composé par Antoine Dauvergne d’après, bien évidemment, La Fontaine. Pour ceux qui chercheraient le dépaysement musical, nous leur conseillons le beau spectacle « Rose d’Ispahan » donné par l’ensemble Doulce Mémoire, mêlant musique baroque italienne et musique perse. Une alchimie que n’aurait pas reniée le célèbre moraliste, dont certaines fables, comme celle des « Deux pigeons », sont inspirées du conteur perse Al Muqaffa.
