Le festival « Les Amateurs! » se veut un lieu d’échanges entre de « grands amateurs » de piano, consacrés par des concours internationaux, et quelques professionnels reconnus. Déployé sur cinq jours, l’événement accueilli par le Théâtre du Châtelet propose un format intéressant. Chaque matin, un maître (Paul Badura-Skoda, Pierre Réach, Bernard d’Ascoli et Siheng Song, Grand Prix Long-Thibaud en 2004) donne à deux « amateurs » un cours d’interprétation ouvert au public. Le soir, un récital conclura chaque journée (Paul Badura-Skoda, Bernard d’Ascoli, Siheng Song, Dana Ciocarlie et Jean-François Zygel dans un programme d’improvisation). Entre les deux se succéderont ceux qui ont fait du piano une passion à défaut d’une profession. Participant pour la plupart à un hommage à Liszt, ils offrent cependant des répertoires d’une variété bienvenue.
