Décidément, les marionnettes ont l’insolente manie de titiller sans coup férir les fourberies de notre époque, pourtant gentiment engoncée au creux de ses bien-pensantes certitudes. Plus turbulentes que jamais, elles observent leurs contemporains et cueillent avec malice quelques-uns de leurs fieffés travers. Donnée en « amuse-gueule » dans les six lieux du festival, la Madame rêve mise en scène par Lucie Nicolas manipule ainsi ces images érotiques qui ne font que renvoyer nos solitudes amoureuses sur papier glamour. Un prélude qui trouve un étrange écho dans les Amours monstres, l’histoire de Merrick, cet homme-éléphant qui mourut de tant vouloir briser l’exil de sa singularité difforme. Ou encore dans les passions déjantées de ô que dévoile Agnès Limbos. Avec Granny, Pseudonymo évoque aussi l’isolement, celui de la vieillesse qui goutte lentement le long des souvenirs, tandis que La S.O.U.P.E. raille la vanité de notre désir de jeunesse éternelle. Réinterprétant le conte de Grimm, le Bob Théâtre s’introduit au cœur des rivalités familiales avec un Hans et Greutel férocement drôle. Les Anges au Plafond préfèrent défroisser le mythe avec une Antigone de papier qui raconte les déchirements de la famille.
La marionnette prend taille humaine
C’est à travers le regard d’une poupée à taille humaine que les danseurs de Vilcanota – Bruno Pradet & Cie interrogent la transmission de la vie ou… la Reproduction interdite. Une question qui résonne autrement dans La pluie, délicatement recueillie par les Lendemains de la veille : cette poignante nouvelle de Daniel Keene remémore les « voyageurs » qui ne sont jamais revenus des trains de l’enfer et qui ont déposé quelque chose d’eux, un objet quelconque, pour transmettre un peu de leur vie. Rebelle au politiquement correct, la marionnette se révèle souvent bien impertinente : la compagnie Alinéa, avec Jean Bête à la foire, tout comme La pendue, avec Poli dégaine, rappellent d’ailleurs cette haute tradition d’insoumission. Avec ses Bénévoles, bienfaiteurs trop zélés et autres bidouilleurs opiniâtres du bien d’autrui, le Tof théâtre use du rire pour moquer les malentendus du dévouement et les dégâts de l’amateurisme professionnel. Quant aux rappeurs berlinois de Puppetmastaz, ils inventent le Gangstoy Band le plus trash de la scène hip hop… Avec quelque onze propositions, la 8ème édition de Mar.T.O. prouve encore une fois que les objets savent nous montrer le monde d’aujourd’hui dans sa vérité crue, onirique et tragique, triste et lumineuse… contradictoire.
