Depuis 1987, quand Annie Fratellini y installe avec Pierre Étaix ses stages internationaux d’été, le parc du château de Nexon est un territoire fertile pour le cirque contemporain. L’inauguration en mai/juin 2021 d’un nouveau chapiteau permanent, baptisé le Vaisseau, ouvre une nouvelle étape dans l’histoire du Sirque – Pôle National Cirque. Plus encore qu’auparavant, cette structure dirigée par le jongleur Martin Palisse s’ouvre à d’autres disciplines. En particulier à la musique, très présente dans le premier des trois rendez-vous estivaux de l’année : le 30 juin, avec Cirkasons, création sonore en quadriphonie et Pan-Pot ou modérément chantant du collectif Petit Travers, où trois jongleurs et un pianiste se livrent à des variations graphiques et rythmiques. Du 28 au 30 juillet, puis du 10 au 14 août, les festivités se poursuivent, avec notamment le duo acrobatique de Carré je, les explorations musicales et visuelles de In C pour 11 oscillateurs et 53 formes ou encore les fildeféristes et les musiciens de In Bìblico de La Sociale K. Au total, une quarantaine de propositions mènent la vie de château.
