Il est vrai que le répertoire d’Angelin Preljocaj fourmille de pièces, intimes ou explosives, récentes ou témoins d’une vague passée de la danse contemporaine. La première soirée nous fait entrer de plain-pied dans l’univers rigoureux du chorégraphe, que ce soit avec une abstraction déconcertante mais étincelante (Empty moves) ou à travers le mythe et le symbole (Annonciation). Dans ce dernier duo, revisiter l’histoire portée par la religion à travers une danse sobre et belle revient pour Preljocaj à brouiller les pistes de la relation entre La Vierge et l’Archange. Deux femmes aux attentions troubles sont les protagonistes d’un événement majeur prompt à se dérouler sous nos yeux. Dans la deuxième soirée, Les 4 Saisons de Vivaldi sont le socle d’une danse qui, dans un environnement plastique fantaisiste, ne parvient pas à s’évader des habitudes formelles portées par de jeunes danseurs irréprochables physiquement. Ce qui fonctionne à merveille dans Empty moves a du mal, avec Vivaldi, à émouvoir.
