Initié en 2000 pour célébrer les Arts de la Parole, inventer de nouveaux territoires de la culture et décloisonner les frontières culturelles, le Festival est dédié ce mois-ci à la culture afro-caribéenne. Sept villes prennent part à l’aventure, qui mêle spectacles et actions artistiques auprès du public : Argenteuil, Clichy-la-Garenne, Colombes, Gennevilliers, La Garenne-Colombes, Nanterre et Villeneuve-la-Garenne. Au cours de l’année 2007, trois villes caribéennes ont été invitées : Port-au-Prince, La Havane et Caracas. La neuvième édition du festival clôt donc ce cycle à travers de multiples spectacles, dont, pour la première fois, l’un a été concocté lors d’une résidence de création, Les Dieux dans la ville, associant six artistes ivoiriens, haïtiens, cubains et togolais sous l’égide d’Hassane Kouyaté de la compagnie Deux Temps Trois Mouvements. Ils ont ainsi créé un spectacle autour de la culture Yoruba associant conte, musique et chant, improvisant à partir de rituels dont la théâtralisation transpose dans notre monde contemporain la mythologie. Le mot Yoruba désigne à la fois un langage, une religion et des groupes ethniques d’Afrique de l’Ouest.
Se frotter aux richesses du monde
En ouverture de la manifestation le 5 octobre, Salsafrica, un concert-bal métissé et chaud du cubain Roberto Iglésias et du congolais Blaise Bula, célèbre les vibrations de la musique. Suivra un hommage à l’immense poète Aimé Césaire à travers notamment un solo dansé de Alfred Alerte sur des poèmes tirés de Ferrements et Corps perdus, dits par Carlton Rara. Tous les spectacles au programme rassemblent l’amour des mots et celui de la musique, qui s’entrelacent et se répondent pour inviter au voyage. Des dizaines d’artistes sont réunis, ce qui permet non seulement la découverte d’esthétiques méconnues, voire inconnues, mais favorise aussi « une culture de mixité et de proximité, une culture plurielle, où l’ailleurs se conjugue avec ici », comme le souligne le directeur de la manifestation Rachid Akbal. Il n’est jamais trop tôt pour se frotter aux richesses du monde : ne ratez pas le bal des enfants le 12 octobre. Et en clôture la Nuit du Conte, de 19h à 2h du matin, avec L’arbre aux mille fruits (jeune public), l’artiste Adama Adepoju dit Taxi Conteur, Victor Cova Correa et le groupe cubain Sabor A Son. Une pause repas est prévue, ainsi qu’un espace aménagé pour le sommeil des enfants ! Une manifestation à soutenir par le public… et les collectivités locales.
