La saison 2009 n’est pas une saison comme les autres pour le Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles à Paris. C’est en effet cette année que cette institution consacrée à l’expression de la culture francophone belge en France fête ses trente ans d’existence. Trente ans à « dorer, lustrer et faire briller le frontispice de [la] maison de la Piazza Beaubourg », comme l’explique Christian Bourgoignie, le directeur du Centre, trente ans « à mettre en avant [les] créateurs plasticiens, musiciens, réalisateurs, hommes et femmes de théâtre, danseurs, comédiens, écrivains… » de la communauté wallonne. Parmi les derniers rendez-vous de cette année commémorative, la quinzième édition du festival Théâtre en CieS. Un festival qui, comme chaque saison, vise à « remuer nos consciences individuelles et collectives en nous amenant à poser des regards lucides sur nous-mêmes et sur l’autre ».

Des regards perspicaces et aiguisés qui s’incarneront, cette année, à travers trois spectacles inédits : Fais voir tes jambes Meryl Streep ou l’incompatibilité des êtres, d’après des textes de l’auteur libanais Rachid El-Daïf mis en scène par Rahim Elasri ; Ceci Est Mon Corps, d’après le roman de Catherine Millet La Vie sexuelle de Catherine M. et des textes d’Isabelle Wéry, qui interprète et met en scène le spectacle ; Bash latterday plays, de l’auteur américain Neil Labute, dans une mise en scène de René Georges du Collectif XK Theater Group. Confrontation ironique de la modernité et d’un monde arabe égaré dans ses multiples identités. Projection intime et poétique vers les terres singulières d’une « espèce de music-hall assez sexué ». Confessions déroutantes de monstres tranquilles et ordinaires qui, à travers leur existence, viennent fissurer l’image glacée du rêve américain. Investissant en profondeur le champ de l’humain, les trois créations présentées par Théâtre en CieS XV viennent interroger nos vies et ainsi mettre à l’épreuve certaines images de notre “normalité”.
