Il y a un peu plus d’un an, Sébastien Lefrançois a été invité à présenter un spectacle à l’Institut français de Rabat (Maroc). Il en profite pour découvrir la vie culturelle au Maroc, et réalise alors que le milieu hip hop marocain recèle une vitalité insoupçonnée. Au cours du même séjour, il visite l’école de cirque de Shemsy, qui forme des enfants, dans la banlieue de Rabat. C’est ainsi qu’apparaît l’idée d’un nouveau spectacle, au croisement du hip hop et du cirque, de la France et du Maroc. Le chorégraphe réunit une équipe mixte de danseurs français et marocains, et se lance dans une création qui interroge le pouvoir des mots, en termes de communication, mais aussi de graphisme : le plateau, grâce à l’intervention d’une équipe de créateurs de films d’animation, devient une page d’écriture.
