Théâtre de la Cité Internationale / texte et conception Mohamed El Khatib
Centrée sur les écritures de l’intime, l’œuvre de Mohamed El Khatib fut bouleversée par la perte de sa mère. A partir de ce deuil fondamental, il a façonné une sorte de confidence intime et singulière, un moment de partage délicat et direct avec le public. Le personnage principal de Finir en beauté, c’est une absence et une absente, c’est tout le lien au passé et à l’enfance. Utilisant des matériaux disparates définissant divers prismes de distanciation – conversations enregistrées avec sa mère, qu’il a traduites de l’arabe au français, courriels, documents administratifs… – , Mohamed El Khatib, seul en scène, donne vie à la mémoire et compose un oratorio universel évitant tout pathos, éclairant « une réalité trouée, friable et mystérieuse ». Sa prestation a été largement saluée cet été à Avignon Off à La Manufacture.
