L’étrangeté a toujours été au cœur de la démarche de Jeanne Mordoj. D’abord dans ses propres pratiques, qui convoquent le clown, la contorsion, la ventriloquie… Ensuite dans l’univers qu’elle porte au plateau, cultivant un regard sur le corps et sur l’identité pour le moins décalé. Aujourd’hui, elle s’attache plus encore à l’univers forain, dans le fond comme dans la forme. Elle renouvelle son rapport au public à travers un dispositif scénographique tout particulier, qui invite le spectateur à entrer dans un espace où finalement tout peut arriver. Rejouant l’héritage des « attractions » et autres « cabinets de curiosités », Jeanne Mordoj invente des rencontres fantaisistes, bizarres, excentriques, où l’hybridité des êtres, des animaux et des existences donne à voir d’autres facettes de notre humanité.
