Inventeur de génie, John Cage (1912-1992), père du piano préparé, est-il toujours actuel ? C’est à cette question que tentent de répondre les créateurs invités d’une table ronde organisée par la Cité de la musique le 15 décembre. Pour Francesco Tristano, qui joue dans le cadre de cette rencontre et le lendemain à Arras, la réponse est évidemment positive : il met en parallèle l’apport du compositeur américain avec celui de Bach, dans un concert où il intervient également comme compositeur, non pas tant d’une œuvre mais plutôt d’un parcours musical. Une sorte de happening où les ressources de l’improvisation et du « mix » ne sont jamais loin. Parallèlement, Francesco Tristano signe « Long Walk », nouvel album chez Deutsche Grammophon consacré à Buxtehude, Bach et à deux de ses propres compositions.
