Dans le cadre de sa résidence aux Gémeaux, le percussionniste et vibraphoniste Franck Tortiller rencontre l’une des meilleures formations de la scène chambriste française, le Quatuor Debussy. « Les musiciens du quatuor Debussy m’ont demandé d’écrire, à l’occasion du centenaire de la mort de Debussy, des pièces inspirées de ses Préludes pour piano, quatuor ou musicien improvisateur. » nous confiait récemment dans ces pages l’ex-directeur de l’ONJ. « J’en ai choisi deux mais je dois dire que c’est l’une des choses les plus difficiles que j’ai faites ! Ces courtes pièces sont de vraies perles, de mini chefs-d’œuvre. Y toucher est très compliqué. J’ai donc pris le parti d’emprunter des chemins de traverse, je m’en suis inspiré plus que je ne les ai arrangés… » explique-t-il. En deuxième partie de ce même concert, Franck Tortiller poursuivra son dialogue avec le Quatuor Debussy dans des arrangements de Moonlight Serenade de Glenn Miller, Summertime de Gershwin, et avec une œuvre nouvelle de sa plume intitulée Cinq cépages, référence probable à ses origines bourguignonnes.
