Pour commencer cette soirée qui se prolonge dans les méandres d’un jazz ouvert et curieux de l’autre, le Quatuor Ébène propose une drôle de fiction, avec ensemble à cordes sensibles, percussions graciles et DJ subtil. De quoi rendre grâce à une musique de chambre résolument moderne et contemporaine, entendez volontiers aventureuse, aux sons qui hantent notre actualité. Puis place à François Méchali, « contrebassiste dans tous ses états » et artiste en résidence en ces lieux, qui convie tout d’abord un pair de longue date, le percussionniste Ramon Lopez, afin de poser l’ambiance de cette nuit : du jazz, il sera question entre les lignes d’une mise en scène (en abîme) poétique dont le morceau de choix sera le Dibbouk Oratorio.

Le natif d’Alger, fidèle à sa curiosité hors limite, rend visite à un conte yiddish. Issu d’une légende hassidique, Le Dibbouk est un ouvrage classique de la littérature yiddish : un sortilège pèse sur Léa et Hannan, prédestinés à s’aimer, et que seule la mort parviendra à unir.
Sur cette trame aux allures de mélodrame classique, François Méchali a composé un oratorio polyphonique avec chœurs, cordes et percussions. Menée par Denis Gautheyrie, la chorale Soli-Tutti est le fil conducteur de ce voyage au pays des âmes, qui invite à une réflexion sur l’autre et sur le dépassement de soi. Quoi de plus normal pour celui qui se définit comme un « esthète hérétique qui se joue des sacro-saintes chapelles », un artiste audacieux qui transgresse depuis toujours les soi-disant codes de bonnes conduites pour nous indiquer des voies moins évidentes, plus réjouissantes, que celle de la norme assommante et assourdissante.
