Le Théâtre du Balcon / Texte et mise en scène de Thierry Surace
Aux origines du mythe de Frankenstein, il y a Frankenstein ou le Prométhée moderne écrit par Mary Shelley à l’invitation de Lord Byron de créer en une nuit le récit le plus effrayant possible. L’histoire de ce cabaret commence treize années après cette nuit, quand l’autrice a été rattrapée par les morts successives de son mari, de deux de ses enfants et d’amis. Thierry Surace imagine alors l’autrice qui se penche à nouveau sur ce roman, dont le héros est un savant qui rend la vie aux morts. Mélange de réel et de fiction au fil d’un « parcours initiatique qui lui donnera une guérison de ses propres blessures », Frankenstein, le cabaret des âmes perdues mêle les chansons de l’excellent Yanowski, du Cirque des mirages, à la partition menée par cinq interprètes, dans « une atmosphère poétique, énergique, comique et fantastique ».
