Troisième volet d’une trilogie intitulée Face à la mort, Convulsions revisite Thyeste de Sénèque. Ramenée dans l’Afrique contemporaine, la tragédie des Atrides déploie ses mouvements de violences familiales tout en interrogeant le thème de la maladie de la possession ou celui de l’immigration. « J’aime l’écriture d’Hakim Bah, déclare Frédéric Fisbach, il fait partie d’une génération d’auteurs qui insuffle une vitalité nouvelle et une urgence à prendre la parole sur les plateaux. Ils sont la preuve vivante de la nécessité, pour penser et cultiver l’humain en nous, de tout ce qui n’est pas nous : l’étranger, le différent, l’autre. » Sur le plateau de Théâtre Ouvert, le metteur en scène dirige les comédien-ne-s Ibrahima Bah, Maxence Bod, Madalina Constantin, Lorry Hardel, Nelson-Rafaell Madel et Marie Payen dans ce « conte d’anticipation effrayant ». Un conte qui, de scène en scène, éclaire les mouvements de la cruauté et de la colère : jusqu’au bout de leur absurdité.
