Dans un récent portrait paru dans nos pages (et toujours en ligne sur www.saisonclassique.fr), Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter est décrit par Alexandre Tharaud comme « l’un des meilleurs musiciens d’aujourd’hui ». Il reconnaissait avoir été « fasciné par ses interprétations de Bach, Chopin et Debussy » tandis que le chef John Eliot Gardiner s’avoue « impressionné par son intelligence musicale, sa sensibilité, et sa maîtrise instrumentale »… Cette pluie d’éloges doit inciter d’urgence le mélomane à tendre l’oreille avec la plus grande attention vers ce nouveau talent du piano français, à plus forte raison à l’heure où les hommages à Chopin envahissent les programmes avec des bonheurs divers… Issu d’une double culture polonaise et française, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter entretient en effet avec l’œuvre de Chopin un rapport très privilégié, nourri par une enfance parisienne et… polonaise à la fois ! « Chopin était même présent dans ma vie avant ma naissance. Ma mère qui était pianiste amateur aimait beaucoup sa musique. Même si nous vivions en France, nous appartenions à une communauté polonaise très soudée : on parlait polonais, on mangeait polonais. Et Chopin est le compositeur national ! Dès que j’ai pu, j’ai joué sa musique, en commençant par les préludes et les valses. Chopin m’accompagne depuis le début de mon parcours… » confie-t-il. En récital exceptionnel à la Fondation Dosne-Thiers, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter choisit d’interpréter l’intégrale des Etudes et la Ballade n° 1 en les associant aux Etudes et Préludes d’un autre grand compositeur polonais : Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937). Signe d’un éclectisme artistique sans pareil, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter vient de signer un enregistrement stimulant et magnifique de liberté des Variations Goldberg de Bach (label Air note) sur piano moderne (Yamaha !). « Pour moi, les Variations Goldberg, c’est l’après big-bang, une autre bulle spatio-temporelle » déclare le jeune pianiste…
