« Depuis 22 ans j’interroge le corps, dans son mouvement comme dans son immobilité (si l’immobilité existe), et depuis ce temps, ce corps me renvoie incessamment à la notion d’espace, à son espace, à l’espace auquel il est relié, à l’espace qu’il crée autour de lui, sa résonance, sa densité, l’espace qui le prolonge, le dévoile, le remplit, où le vide le soutient, où le sombre le dynamise ou l’aplatit. » C’est cette recherche lancinante que Paco Dècina poursuit dans sa dernière pièce. Il en a trouvé le titre – Fresque, femmes regardant à gauche – dans un livre d’archéologie présentant des images d’Herculanum et il s’est attaché, avec les sept danseurs, à inventer une « fresque chorégraphique » qui mette en relief les corps, mais aussi le vide autour des corps. Le résultat est à la hauteur de l’ambition : une expérience de la plénitude, qui travaille l’état d’éveil autant que le rêve.
