Lèvres ourlées de duvet, sourcils épais et bouche sanglante : Frida Kahlo, à la fois peintre et modèle, est un étonnant mélange de force et de sensualité, de douceur et de provocation. André Breton comparait son œuvre à « un ruban autour d’une bombe » et la vie éclatante de cette femme qui ne céda pas plus aux diktats des mœurs qu’à ceux de l’art de son temps l’a transformée en égérie de l’anticonformisme. Elle est une femme du surplus, du surcroît, du supplément : les artistes grecs du Fly Theater ont voulu célébré sa capacité de dépassement plus encore que les fracas de son corps et de son âme : Frida « ki allo », c’est-à-dire « plus de ».

« L’objectif n’est pas de raconter la vie de Frida Kahlo, aussi dramatique soit-elle, mais d’explorer toute l’épaisseur du personnage, ses limitations physiques, sa douleur et de faire comprendre comment, en dépit de ses handicaps, elle a bâti son propre univers, un monde fait de passions, d’endurance et de liberté. » dit l’actrice et marionnettiste Katerina Damvoglou, qui joue de sa ressemblance avec l’artiste pour mieux l’incarner. Le spectacle se crée en direct, les images se fondent dans l’interprétation et « le personnage naît de l’addition du jeu, du texte et des éléments constitutifs de sa personnalité ».
