« Tout a commencé un soir d’été, en juillet 2018 au Festival d’Avignon, avec la création de Gatsby le magnifique, dans le cadre des productions en public de France Culture au musée Calvet. Sofiane Zermani interprétait Gatsby. Ce spectacle radiophonique eut un tel succès que nous avons tous souhaité le reprendre à Paris » disent Blandine Masson et Sandrine Treiner. Né de la rencontre entre les productrices de France Culture et Sofiane Zermani ainsi que de leur commun engouement pour ce roman flamboyant, ce spectacle se situe au carrefour du jazz, de la musique classique, de la pop et du hip hop. Mis en musique par Issam Krimi, il raconte l’histoire du fascinant et sulfureux Gatsby, de son amour inextinguible pour Daisy et de son destin brisé sur les écueils de la reconnaissance sociale et de la lutte des classes qui, même quand elle est menée dans les costumes emplumés et emperlousés des Années Folles, ne laisse jamais gagner les petits aux rêves trop grands pour eux…
