Une des nouvelles grandes voix du violon français : la strasbourgeoise Geneviève Laurenceau, ancien élève de Wolfgang Marschner, Jean-Jacques Kantorow et Zakhar Bron (ce sorcier qui forma Vengerov et Repin), remporte au début de sa carrière le Premier Prix au Concours International de Novossibirsk et le 5ème concours « Le violon de l’Adami ». Depuis, elle enchaîne les aventures et rencontres musicales : plusieurs enregistrements de qualité dont un très bel album consacré à la musique de chambre d’Albéric Magnard, des créations d’œuvres nouvelles (de Benjamin Attahir, Karol Beffa, Bruno Mantovani et Philippe Hersant), et depuis peu des responsabilités au sein de l’Académie Philippe Jaroussky à la Seine musicale de Boulogne où elle est en charge de la classe de violon. Geneviève Laurenceau est à deux reprises dans l’actualité parisienne de cette fin d’automne, au Bal Blomet pour la sortie de son nouvel enregistrement « Paris 1900 » (chez Naïve), consacré à des sonates pour violon et piano de Fauré, Saint-Saëns et Pierné avec David Bismuth au piano, puis au Théâtre Angel Parra entourée de son groupe Smoking Joséphine et du chanteur Yanowski pour un programme intitulé “Autour du Tango“, des premiers standards du genre à Piazzolla ou Gustavo Beytelman, en passant par Ferré/Caussimon (Monsieur William).
