T2G – Théâtre de Gennevilliers / texte et mes Oriza Hirata
Dans les deux pièces qu’il met en scène au Théâtre de Gennevilliers, Oriza Hirata suit l’existence des Shinozaki, une famille de colons japonais installés en Corée, au début du XXème siècle. « Dans Gens de Séoul 1909, explique l’auteur et metteur en scène, l’action se déroule un an avant l’accomplissement de la colonisation de la Corée par le Japon. A cette époque, presque tous les Japonais étaient persuadés que cette colonisation serait bienfaisante, y compris pour la Corée. Dans Gens de Séoul 1919, en revanche, ils vivaient la période la plus dure de la colonisation. Si les colons continuaient à croire à la légitimité de leur occupation, ils ressentaient naturellement un climat sinistre. » A dix ans d’intervalle, c’est le quotidien vu à travers le prisme des petites choses qui nous est montré. Ici, pas de grandes analyses socio-politiques, mais le cours des jours qui laisse deviner le destin des peuples. C’est là toute la force du « théâtre tranquille » d’Oriza Hirata : croquer l’ordinaire de la vie pour révéler les perspectives qui le dépassent.
