C’est l’un des événements de cette rentrée. Géraldine Laurent signe son quatrième album personnel, quatre ans après « At Work » et douze après son premier opus « Time Out Trio » en 2008 chez Dreyfus Jazz qui publia aussi « Around Gigi » en 2010… C’est dire si la bouillonnante saxophoniste à la sensibilité d’écorchée vive prend son temps pour graver le flot flamboyant de cris, de couleurs et de rêves qui coule de son saxophone alto. « Sa musique peut se construire autour d’une phrase, ou se développer longuement sur des formes contemplatives, mais on retrouve toujours une urgence, une présence qui éclaire chaque seconde de son jeu. Dans sa quête incessante des vraies émotions du jazz, on l’entend traversée par les âmes de Rollins, de Dolphy, de Coltrane, de Hawkins ou de Parker, toutes résolument tendues vers le même but… » souligne le pianiste Laurent de Wilde qui a produit cet album. Géraldine Laurent retrouve les musiciens de son album précédent, un quartet soudé composé de Paul Lay au piano, Donald Kontomanou à la batterie et de son complice de la première heure Yoni Zelnik à la contrebasse. A Nevers le 14/11, Baptiste Trotignon rejoindra le quartet en remplacement (de luxe) de Paul Lay…
