La Ferme du Buisson / Le Monfort/ de Hjalmar Söderberg / mes Jean-Pierre Baro
Jean-Pierre Baro s’étonne que cette pièce de Hjalmar Söderberg (1969-1941) ne soit pas plus souvent montée en France, tant il admire cette écriture épurée, dense et sensuelle relatant la quête d’un amour absolu, vouée à l’échec. La cantatrice Gertrud se lie à trois hommes – avocat, écrivain, compositeur – et renonce à chacun, écartant tout ce qui ne satisfait pas son désir immédiat. A travers ces destins qui s’abîment dans la solitude, à travers le conflit entre le corps et l’âme, entre les aspirations individuelles et sociales, l’auteur dénonce l’arrivisme et explore des thématiques intemporelles. Afin de rendre compte des enjeux de la pièce reliant l’art, l’amour et le politique, Jean-Pierre Baro met en œuvre une mise en scène épurée, chorale et chorégraphique, qui inscrit le dialogue entre les époques à travers les musiques, les costumes et la scénographie, et qui fait du théâtre le miroir de nos vies.
