« Avant de partir, quelle projection faisais-tu de la vie en France ? », « Quel souvenir gardes-tu du jour de ton départ ? », « Une fois arrivé, est-ce que ce fut une nouvelle vie ? », « Quel lien gardes-tu avec ta langue maternelle, ton pays d’origine, tes souvenirs ? » Telles sont les questions qu’Alix Riemer a posées à son ami Biño Sauitzvy, acteur et performeur brésilien arrivé à trente ans en France, ainsi qu’à d’autres témoins (dont les membres de sa propre famille), qui ont quitté pour toujours leur pays d’origine. Comment se construit-on quand on choisit de vivre à des milliers de kilomètres de là où l’on a grandi, confronté à une autre langue et une autre culture ? « J’espère que cette multiplicité de témoignages permettra de simplement effleurer l’étrangeté de l’étranger, sans lui donner de structure définitive », dit Alix Riemer, qui fabrique, en compagnie de Biño Sauitzvy, « des portraits à vue, comme des tableaux vivants » sur la scène peuplée de mots et de souvenirs.
