Gidon Kremer est sans conteste l’un des violonistes les plus atypiques de sa génération. Pendant que ses collègues jouent ad nauseam les mêmes concertos romantiques, le violoniste letton privilégie musique de chambre et création contemporaine. Le Théâtre de la Ville l’accueille ce mois-ci dans un programme des plus singuliers, en trio avec la violoncelliste Giedre Dirvanauskaite et le pianiste Andrius Zlabys. Où l’on passe de la Chaconne de la Partita n°2 de Bach à une pièce de la compositrice contemporaine russe Sofia Goubaïdoulina, sans oublier le Trio n°2 avec piano de Chostakovitch. Même si le jeu de Gidon Kremer a tendance à manquer un peu, ces derniers temps, de précision technique, une telle liberté musicale force le respect.
