Théâtre de la Ville Les Abbesses / Chor. Ben Duke
Nominé pour recevoir un Olivier Award, Goat, chorégraphié par Ben Duke pour le Ballet Rambert, est un ballet intense et drôle. Dans la famille de Duke, le 31 janvier donnait lieu à un rite particulier consistant à enfermer le récit de ses péchés dans une boîte attachée à la queue d’une chèvre, que l’on faisait s’enfuir. Goat part donc d’un jeu de mot intraduisible entre scapegoat (bouc émissaire) et escape goat (la chèvre de secours ou la chèvre en fuite). La pièce joue sur ce foisonnement de sens, tout en examinant les pires péchés de notre société actuelle. Appelant les tubes de Nina Simone à la rescousse, ici chantés par Nya Lynn, et le thème du sacrifice du Sacre du printemps, Goat se présente comme un immense reality show qui mêle à une danse d’une force peu commune, du théâtre, du divertissement, le journal de 20h, un concert, et de la poésie. C’est totalement surprenant et vigoureusement engagé, très anglais, humour compris !
