Depuis 1996, le violoniste Graf Mourja est l’invité régulier du Théâtre de la Ville. Le public parisien est donc devenu familier de cette figure musicale attachante et ébouriffée aux antipodes du profil propret et fade du jeune soliste « premier de la classe » dont regorge la vie musicale. Virtuose spectaculaire et musicien habité, l’intuitif Mourja est porteur d’une sensibilité ardente et spontanée à laquelle ses origines ne sont peut-être pas étrangères : il a vu le jour en Ukraine dans une famille tzigane hongroise, à quelques kilomètres du village natal de Bartok… Le génie du violon et du rythme semble couler dans ses veines. Accompagné par l’excellent pianiste russe Evgheny Brakhman, il interprète la Sonate pour violon et piano n° 2 de Brahms, la Sonate pour violon et piano n° 2 de Ravel, trois extraits de Porgy and Bess de Gershwin (arrangés par Heifetz) et la Sonate pour violon et piano n° 2 de Bartók.
