« Plongée intime, étourdissante et pleine d’humour dans la vie d’un praticien de la scène, Grand Ecart rappelle qu’un danseur est un travailleur comme un autre, confronté lui aussi aux difficultés du monde du travail. » Le spectacle questionne ainsi les limites de la pratique artistique, « celles du corps, de la dévotion et du pouvoir ». Kiyan Khoshoie oscille entre « passion et désamour » pour un métier qui exige autant de temps que d’énergie, blesse souvent ceux qui l’exercent et les soumet à des violences qui sont à la mesure de l’ascèse exigeante qu’il suppose. « Brisant quelques clichés romantiques de la danse », ce seul en scène rappelle avec autant de force que d’humour que si labor omnia vincit improbus (un travail acharné vient à bout de tout), il arrive aussi parfois qu’il vainque celui qui le confond avec un sacerdoce…
