Pour participer à l’aventure des Conférences Gesticulées, mise en œuvre par Franck Lepage au Grand Parquet, Leïla Cukierman a accepté de raconter son « savoir chaud » de communiste, en puisant aux sources intimes de sa motivation militante : la mémoire de l’esclavage et celle du génocide juif. La directrice du Théâtre Antoine-Vitez d’Ivry a souhaité qu’un spectacle naisse de ce texte, et a confié à D’ de Kabal le soin de le mettre en scène. « Par cet acte, symboliquement très fort, dit D’ de Kabal, elle témoigne de sa volonté de transmettre à la nouvelle génération son histoire, celle de sa posture face au monde en même temps qu’elle accepte la possibilité de transformation de cet héritage par le regard nouveau que je poserai ». Pour rendre compte de l’identité multiple de cette communiste marquée par sa double filiation juive et antillaise, D’ de Kabal rassemble trois interprètes : Leïla Cukierman, lui-même et Nina Miskina, rappeuse et comédienne. « Voix parlée, voix chantée, slammée, rappée, contée, criée, éructée, bruitée » : corps et matières sonores contrastées se diffractent et se complètent pour dire cette parole complexe et sincère, riche de la mémoire de l’Histoire, des souvenirs des combats et de la promesse des lendemains à venir, couleur de palme et de feuillage au front…
