Née en 2008 sur l’Ile de la Réunion, perpétuée en juillet 2009 à Bordeaux, sanctifiée d’un disque en février 2010, l’aventure Zembrocal se poursuit désormais à Africolor, le grand rendez-vous afro avant d’entrer dans les froideurs de l’hiver. Avant d’être un projet musical, le zembrocal est un plat typique de l’Ile de la Réunion où riz, grains, viande et épices s’imprègnent les uns des autres tout en gardant chacun leur spécificité.
Telle est l’ambition de cette rencontre musicale qui a pour cœur le maloya de Groove Lélé, le groupe constitué des enfants de feu Granmoun Lélé, héros de la scène locale mort en 2004. A leur recette vigoureusement épicée, viennent donc s’ajouter d’autres ingrédients des plus relevés :
le violoncelliste hollandais Ernst Reijseger, poteau mitan de la scène des musiques libres et esthète friand de croisements en tout genre, et la voix wolof de Mola Sylla, chanteur sénégalais installé à Amsterdam depuis 1987, lui aussi adepte des mélanges savoureux. Somme toute, cette tambouille des plus goûteuses, à l’image des alchimies de la Réunion, sera la parfaite mise en bouche pour le concert de Danyèl Waro, un artiste de conviction au caractère bien trempé qui a su préserver le blues de son île, le maloya, des mélasses tiédasses de la world music.
