Il ne s’agit pas de réciter les célèbres Fables, telles qu’elles ont été écrites au 17e siècle, mais de jouer avec leurs échos en chacun de nous qui avons grandi baignés de ces histoires et des sonorités de leur langue élégante. Par le détour du clown, Céline Barbarin atomise le texte canonique pour en tirer les substantifiques éléments. Le clown Clark nous convie à la préparation d’un festin, où les Fables seraient des ingrédients à émincer, malaxer, mélanger, cuire et transformer. Les animaux qui se téléscopent et les intrigues qui se mélangent font d’abord une drôle de tambouille, mais il en résulte finalement des rapprochements féconds, une poésie un peu surréaliste, servie avec la généreuse spontanéité du clown. Le spectacle, au final, prend un tour philosophique, l’humour n’étant pas incompatible avec la profondeur des questionnements.
