Grusvägen 7, c’est-à-dire « 7 route des cailloux »… Drôle d’adresse, perdue au creux des sombres méandres de la campagne suédoise, à l’orée d’une forêt inquiète qui s’enfonce sûrement vers l’inconnu. On y vient par une course effrénée, suivie caméra au poing, à travers les arbres immenses et les feuilles mortes palies sous la neige. Jusqu’à trouver l’homme à tête d’élan, qui joue du piano au milieu des champs. Beethoven, Sonate au clair de lune. Prélude étrange au monde fantastique qui se cache dans le clair-obscur de la scène. L’image quitte l’écran, tombe dans la pénombre d’un intérieur baroque, logé quelque part au revers du conscient. Deux hommes s’y livrent à un curieux rituel : l’un, coiffeur-barbier maniaque, taquine, taille, tranche, les poils de l’autre, son « client ». « Des poils de bête volent. Des poils qui volent par milliers devant les miroirs des salons de coiffure, des poils qu’on coupe, des poils dont on se débarrasse… pour ne pas devenir sauvage.»
Un univers étrange, très étrange
Tout dérange la raison familière ici, tout transgresse les normes du réel, comme pour desceller les peurs intimes rangées à l’arrière du vécu. Le Suédois Isak Lindberg et le François Benjamin Haegel découpent les menus gestes du quotidien, qu’ils radotent nerveusement jusqu’à en extirper les pulsions sous-jacentes. Habiles illusionnistes, ils manient ciseaux, haches et cigarettes, usant des techniques du jonglage et de la magie comme vecteurs de la métamorphose et du fantasme. Ce jeune duo, fondateur de la Tide company et lauréat du concours Jeune Talent Cirque en 2008, façonne un univers surréaliste, subliminal, où la violence semble sans cesse menacer les boiseries joliment laquées de la civilité.
