C’est un événement considérable : Gustav Leonhardt, 80 ans passés et créativité intacte, s’installe à Paris pour un « Domaine Privé » à la Cité de la Musique. Cette série de rendez-vous alterne récital d’orgue, musique de chambre et concerts d’ensemble et accorde une place prépondérante à la musique d’Henry Purcell. On célèbre (discrètement) cette année le 350ème anniversaire de la naissance du compositeur anglais, le 10 septembre 1659… Le regard rigoureux et inspiré du maître hollandais porté sur la musique de Purcell devrait réserver de grands moments de redécouvertes. « Le terme « authentique » est terrible mais il dit tout de même qu’il existe une version idéale d’une œuvre d’art. En peinture, en architecture ou en sculpture, on peut vraiment dire « ça c’est la version que l’artiste a voulue ». Cet idéal de ne pas changer l’œuvre d’art, en couleurs ou en formes, est la chose essentielle de ce mouvement de Renaissance baroque » rappelle Gustav Leonhardt. Le 15 septembre, il dirigera Purcell et Blow à la tête du Concert français et de l’ensemble vocal Sagittarius, avant quatre jours plus tard, de revenir à Purcell aux commandes d’un autre ensemble français d’excellence, Café Zimmermann, et toujours de Sagittarius (le 19). Entre ces deux dates, il aura retrouvé son clavecin pour dialoguer en formation chambriste avec ses vieux compagnons de route Sigiswald, Sara et Wieland Kuijken (dans Purcell et Blow toujours), le 16, puis, en solitaire, au pupitre de l’orgue de l’Eglise Saint-Louis en l’Ile dans des œuvres de Muffat, Purcell, Blow, Kerckhoven et Fischer, le 17.
