Gustav Lundgren a croisé la route de musiciens de la trempe de Chris Cheek ou Jorge Rossy, avec lesquels il a enregistré à plusieurs reprises. Ce guitariste d’origine suédoise entretient en parallèle ses « French connections » qui ont débouché sur la constitution d’un groupe, nommé AGE, formé avec le saxophoniste Adrien Sanchez, son frère Maxime au piano, le contrebassiste Edouard Pennes et le batteur Guilhem Flouzat. Si, avec Pennes, Lundgren avait pu se révéler un digne émule de Django Reinhardt, il dévoile, à la tête d’AGE, un tout autre tempérament, celui d’un guitariste très ancré dans le jazz actuel, tendance new-yorkaise, beaucoup plus proche de Lage Lund ou Yotam Silberstein. La qualité de ses accompagnateurs devrait suffire à inciter à aller mieux le découvrir sur scène, d’autant qu’il célèbre, par ce concert, la parution du premier album du groupe.
