En juin dernier, Gustavo Dudamel nous avait offert avec l’Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France une version d’anthologie de la Première Symphonie « Titan » de Mahler. Il avait réussi à insuffler à la formation parisienne un dynamisme et une puissance hors normes. On le retrouve donc avec impatience en cette rentrée, où il est à l’affiche de deux concerts salle Pleyel. Le premier donne à entendre la Symphonie fantastique de Berlioz jouée à… deux orchestres. Les musiciens du Philharmonique de Radio France vont se mêler aux jeunes instrumentistes de l’Orchestre Simon Bolivar, la formation d’excellence du « Sistema », le système d’apprentissage vénézuélien de la musique dont est issu Dudamel. Le concert s’annonce donc sous les meilleurs auspices, d’autant que l’enregistrement (Deutsche Grammophon) de la même Symphonie fantastique par Dudamel avec l’Orchestre de Los Angeles nous avait fasciné par sa vigueur passionnée. Le lendemain, l’Orchestre Simon Bolivar interprétera la Cinquième symphonie de Chostakovitch et le Concerto pour violon de Tchaïkovski (avec en soliste l’archet star de Renaud Capuçon). Deux occasions à ne pas manquer pour ceux qui n’auraient pas encore vu le plus fabuleux prodige de la direction d’orchestre.
