Centre national du costume de scène / Exposition
Ils sont un élément essentiel pour aider les artistes à se fondre dans leurs personnages : les costumes de scène. Rendant hommage aux ateliers de couture de l’Opéra et revisitant 144 ans de leur histoire, cette nouvelle exposition organisée de façon chronologique fait revivre les grandes productions de ballet et d’opéra de l’Opéra de Paris depuis 1875, date d’inauguration du Palais Garnier. En 150 costumes, on y retrouve les grands noms d’hier : Léon Bakst, Jean Cocteau ou Raoul Dufy pour le début de XXe siècle, les peintres invités par Serge Lifar, puis l’Ecole de Paris ou l’ère Lieberman pour s’acheminer vers les costumes d’aujourd’hui, qui puisent parfois dans des stocks de fripes vintage. Véritables reflets des courants esthétiques de chaque époque, les costumes de scène sont tout autant une vitrine du savoir-faire français qu’une invitation à la poésie.
