OPERA ET ORATORIO / VERSAILLES
Aux premières heures du printemps, on pourra entendre deux partitions majeures de Haendel à l’Opéra Royal de Versailles : l’oratorio La Resurrezione et l’opéra Tamerlano. Pour la première œuvre, le chef d’orchestre René Jacobs dirige Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, qui délaisse exceptionnellement la baguette de Jérémie Rhorer. La distribution, prometteuse, réunit notamment les sopranos Sophie Karthäuser et Sunhae Im, deux fidèles de Jacobs. Créé par Corelli le 8 avril 1708 à l’occasion du dimanche de Pâques, cet oratorio a pour sujet la passion du Christ suivie de sa résurrection. L’écriture vocale est des plus virtuose, tout comme l’instrumentation. Nul doute que René Jacobs saura restituer toute l’intensité dramatique de cette partition. Autre rendez-vous : Tamerlano, interprété par le jeune et très talentueux ensemble baroque italien Il Pomo d’Oro que dirige Maxim Emelyanychev. A l’affiche, les contre-ténors Xavier Sabata et Max Emmanuel Cencic. On retrouve également dans la distribution la gracieuse Sophie Karthäuser. Le livret de Tamerlano, inspiré du texte d’Agostino Piovene, possède une dimension épique, mêlant intrigues politiques et drames personnels.
