MUSIQUE DE CHAMBRE, JAZZ / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES
On a vraiment du mal à lui imaginer cet âge-là tant Michel Portal incarne le charme, la liberté et le goût du jeu… Mais qu’importe ! C’est aujourd’hui sa fête musicale dans le cadre si propice et chaleureux des Concerts du Dimanche Matin de Jeanine Roze où il a joué au moins une fois par an depuis leurs débuts il y a plus de 40 ans… Une belle complicité partagée. Son programme et ses nombreux amis musiciens invités puiseront à toutes les sources de ce qui fait son riche ADN musical, de la musique classique au jazz. « Quand j’étais étudiant au Conservatoire de Paris, j’allais déjà jouer dans les clubs de jazz. On me qualifiait alors de « fantaisiste ». On essuie un certain nombre de critiques quand on touche un peu à tout. Mais pour moi, ça n’a fait que m’enrichir. Quand je joue du Mozart, certaines phrases me rappellent des valses-musettes de musique populaire, et parfois, dans Bach, j’imagine l’accompagnement d’une contrebasse jazz… », confia dans nos colonnes Michel Portal, qui passera au fil de la soirée d’un instrument à l’autre : clarinette, saxophone, bandonéon… Avec autour de lui : Pierre Fouchenneret (violon), Guillaume Chilemme (violon), Adrien La Marca (alto) et Victor Julien-Laferrière (violoncelle), les pianistes Shani Diluka et Yaron Herman et le chanteur Laurent Naouri (baryton-basse).
