Langage de la frappe, de l’effort, du rythme, des fréquences : les Wadaiko ou tambours japonais sont un media sonore et philosophique porteur de sens, riches en mouvements poétiques et palpitations métaphoriques. Le groupe Heiwa Daiko, déjà reconnu au pays du Soleil Levant, décrypte sous la houlette de Fabien Kanou un art séculaire encore méconnu du public français. « C’est l’énergie de la troupe qui dégage l’émotion. Nous sommes sept musiciens, tous percussionnistes sauf un saxophoniste. Mais chacun est multi-instrumentiste, ce qui nous permet de multiplier les possibilités sonores entre le chant, le n’goni, la kora, le balafon, la flûte… » explique le leader. « Le concert est découpé en deux sets caractéristiques de nos orientations : une première partie plutôt traditionnelle quoique modernisée, avec des costumes inspirés des samouraïs, et une seconde plus métissée et urbaine, dont les costumes évoqueraient plutôt les sports extrêmes. Mes premières influences restent la musique africaine et asiatique. Mais je cherche à faire évoluer ma pratique des Taiko, à traverser nos frontières musicales vers le rock par exemple ». Du jamais vu ni entendu !
