A l’image de I Silenti de Fabrizio Cassol à l’honneur à l’Opéra de Lille pour une création, le libanais apparaît lui aussi à sa façon, plus solitaire et secrète, comme un musicien de la pluralité. D’abord celle de sa double compétence de compositeur et de pianiste (on pourrait dire « triple » car il est aussi plasticien), mais aussi celle de ses origines moyen-orientales qui infusent subtilement toute sa musique nourrie de culture européenne. A l’invitation de l’Opéra du Rhin, il lève le voile sur un nouvel opéra : Hémon. L’ouvrage est construit sur un livret de Paul Audi où, revisitant le mythe d’Antigone, la tragédie de Sophocle est regardée à travers un autre prisme, celui du fiancé d’Antigone… Le personnage d’Hémon sera interprété par le jeune contre-ténor italien Raffaele Pe, très bien entouré (Judith Fa, Béatrice Uria-Monzon, etc.). Zad Moultaka signe également la mise en scène, la scénographie et les costumes du spectacle. Hémon sera présenté au printemps dans le cadre du festival pluridisciplinaire Arsmondo de l’Opéra du Rhin, dont la quatrième édition est dédiée au Liban.
