Ceci n’est pas un opéra mais s’en approche. L’Heptaméron, tableaux des travaux (amoureux) et des jours narrés par Marguerite de Navarre, devient le fil d’une représentation des passions « mises en mouvement » par la musique qu’inventent, dans les décennies suivantes par le genre du madrigal, des musiciens tels que Luca Marenzio, Carlo Gesualdo et bien sûr Claudio Monteverdi. Ce dernier, considéré comme le fondateur de l’opéra (avec L’Orfeo), fera de ses livres de madrigaux un atelier d’expression des sentiments par la musique, comme le feront à peu près à la même époque les peintres du baroque. Ce spectacle original réunit le metteur en scène Benjamin Lazar et le chef Geoffroy Jourdain, fondateur de l’ensemble vocal Les Cris de Paris : deux artistes passionnés, précisément, par l’expression, qu’elle soit visuelle ou musicale, et par la voix, chantée, parlée et portée par le corps. Les arts réunis dessinent l’âme du monde.
